The Credo Centre is a Church Building which for the last few years has been used as a
health and fitness club. Three visionary Christian Businessmen have bought the
building and are converting it back into being used for Christian activities.
The building will be used by several Christian agencies and charitible organisations.
On the first floor there are a suite of several offices and small rooms and a
conference room which can hold about 100 people. Aberdeen City Mission and Choices
Pregnancy Counselling Services are among several groups who are considering using
these office and counselling facilities.
On the second floor there is a large open plan office where Christian and socially
aware organisations will be able to hot desk from time to time as and when their
need arises for office space.
The whole of the ground floor is to be occupied by The Way Trust who will operate the
Gateway Project.
Gateway @ Credo will be a Coffee Shop seating about 60 – 70 guests and will provide
homemade soup, sandwiches, bakery goods and lots more. The ethos of the menu will be
that we will use a substantial amount of fairtrade and organic ingredients where
possible. The staff will be a mixture of local volunteers and women who have for one
reason or another slipped through the employment cycle but who have been referred to
us by various agencies.
The whole philosophy of the project is to help those women to get back into the habit
of the work ethic, to give them hope for the future and eventually help them into
meaningful fulltime employment which will give them back the self esteem which they
deserve
There will be a shop selling products which will be made by world wide based projects.
The goods will be of fairtrade type items and, where possible, crafts will be made,
from sustainable or recycled materials, this with a range of locally sourced bakery,
preserves and other food products. In the shop there will be facility to purchase
freshly made sandwiches and soft drinks for those who do not have the time to sit and
enjoy the atmosphere of the Coffee Shop.
